Katie & Richard Mini Blog

Ok, so I have so many images I really wanted to blog from this wedding (and umm, I can't even remember the last time I blogged a wedding!!), but it's almost 8:00 and I still have to pack for my VACATION that I'm leaving on TOMORROW MORNING!!! So....for now, 5 will have to suffice.

So, as you might have gathered, I'll be on VACATION for awhile...till the week after Labor Day, specifically (I'm not excited or anything...). So, I'll be pretty well unreachable till then. Kris will still be around to answer calls and return some emails, but please be patient with us until I return, hopefully much calmer and saner :-) I promise to be a better blogger then, too. (We've only got the biggest wedding AND portrait month of the year coming up in September...eek!) Anyway, until September.... :-)

Piper's Two Month Photos

We shot Piper last week and tell me she's not the cutest little thing you've ever seen! We can't wait to have her back for more!!

Tag!

I've been tagged by the infamously amazing Bobbi in this fun photographer game! (Thanks Bob :-) So I'm supposed to share 8 things you don't know about me, then tag 8 more photogs to play next on their blogs. Hmmmm.....

1. I grew up showing quarter horses (that's how Sam & I met). This was an every weekend occurance and I literally have done it all my life (won my first belt buckle when I was two :-)
2. I have an abnormal hatred of getting food on my hands....absolutely can't stand eating ribs for this reason.
3. Speaking of food, I luuuuurrrvvee Mexican (but not spicy food) and have recently fallen for sushi. I could live on ice cream.
4. Other than family, growing up, I never had a babysitter. Ever.
5. I can make a clover with my tongue. I can also fold it back on itself (without my teeth) and touch my nose. Freak of nature.
6. I have an odd collection of glassware (old bottles and jars) and can't resist buying them if I see them around.
7. I am freakishly obsessed with efficiency...I even plan out trips around the house to minimize my steps taken....I have a 'correct' method for preparing baked potatoes and cereal that 'makes the most sense'....I basically drive anyone crazy who works with me! Hmm....I may be just a bit OCD, huh?
8. I love Mel Brooks movies (I'm watching Young Frankenstein right now).

There! In Bobbi's trend, everyone leave a comment and tell me something I don't know about you!! :-)

My 8 to tag are:

(Heather and Dustin, Bobbi already got ya or you'd be here :-)

1. Bruce Snell
2. Nikki Gravatt
3. Jasmine Star
4. Shyla Dalirifar
5. Jan Garcia
6. Kate Mefford
7. Becca Spears / Tyler Wirken
8. Jessica Roark

Awwww

Imagine my surprise when someone showed up at the studio with these for me!

It just so happens that today is Sam & I's 4 year anniversary!! Thanks darlin! :-) Happy Anniversary!!!

P.S. I swear I'm going to do some real blogs soon - at least two before we go to FLORIDA for a VACATION next week :-)

One more for now.

Since I've been such a bad blogger, I figure I owe you. So....do any of you girls out there recognize this hottie? She's quite a Mink...isn't she?? Hehehe...Ok, I'll give it away for those of you who didn't get it - it's Katie, the fabulous stylist who helps just about all of our girls get even more gorgeous for their shoots. She's not so bad on the front side of the camera, huh?

New stuff!

I FINALLY just finished updating the website. That was quite an ordeal (and I didn't even change anything except the photos)!! So, here's your prompt - go check out all the new stuff featured on the website. Here's a quick sampling of a couple of the GORGEOUS girls we've had in recently for Coquettes.

And speaking of new stuff, KPD is now offering the La Vita Dolce shoot! It's sort of our take off of the Trash the Dress phenom. For those of you who haven't heard about this TTD stuff, it's basically an opportunity to go out (after your wedding) and shoot some amazing shots where the dress may or may not get a bit dirty (or caught on fire, soaked, etc...). The concept is that since you're marrying the love of your life, you'll never need the dress again. Plus you get some sweeeeeet pics out of the deal that would be pretty much impossible to get at the wedding.

The reason I've decided to be difficult and re-label the shoots for my purposes is that I don't want brides to feel like they HAVE to ruin, desecrate, and otherwise maim their dresses to do a great shoot like this. In fact, many of the TTD photos are increasingly becoming a 'who can put the dress in the most bizarre positions' contest. I don't think it should be about that, but rather about the bride. Therefore (stepping off my soapbox....), a La Vita Dolce shoot may or may not get your dress dirty or ruined (that is up to you and will depend on the vision we come up with for your shoot). The photos have a bit more of a fashion-photography edge and are shamelessly sophisticated and sexy. This is the most I've written in awhile...or ever...on this blog...is anyone still reading?? How about I just get to the pictures? If anyone is interested in doing these, give me a ring - we can combine them with a Coquette shoot and save $100, too, if you're interested...

And a bit of a preview for the lovely Kim, who hasn't seen these yet.... :-)
